About the BID
The Adams Morgan Partnership Business Improvement District (AMPBID) is a nonprofit 501(c)6 organization established to enhance the quality of life for residents, visitors, employees, businesses and property owners in the commercial center of Adams Morgan.
Formed in 2005, the AMPBID, focuses on three key areas: cleanliness, safety and marketing. The streets and sidewalks are swept seven days a week, and our uniformed Clean Team provides a variety of other public space maintenance services throughout the public realm. We also employ a team of Safety Ambassadors who spend their shift out in the neighborhood keeping an eye out for problems and maintaining a visual presence to help discourage bad behavior. AMPBID promotes the neighborhood locally and nationally, and organizes dozens of events that engage tens of thousands of visitors each year.
Services are funded by a self-imposed assessment on commercial property owners within the Adams Morgan neighborhood.
Our hardworking Clean Team maintains one acre of park space and 3.5 miles of sidewalk every day. Annually the BID removes over 450 tons of trash and nearly 100 tons of recycling.
The Clean Team is funded in part by a grant from the DC Department of Small and Local Business Development. Since 2007, this grant has enabled us to provide consistent and strategic cleaning services 365 days a year.
Adams Morgan is home to some of the most vibrant and bustling nightlife in the District of Columbia. AMPBID employs a team of Safety Ambassadors who patrol the neighborhood 7 days a week with coverage from noon until 11 pm most days. On a daily basis our safety team checks in with businesses, assists visitors in finding their way, reports public space issues for maintenance, and helps to connect people experiencing homelessness with needed services. The Safety Ambassador program is augmented by a generous grant from the DC Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice's Safe Commercial Corridors program.
From eye-catching social campaigns to sleek monthly newsletters and curated neighborhood guides, AMPBID uses strategic marketing to spotlight everything that makes Adams Morgan unforgettable. Our efforts connect residents, business owners, and visitors to the latest events, local businesses, and cultural happenings keeping the energy of the neighborhood alive both online and off.
Adams Morgan is where D.C. comes to celebrate. AMPBID produces a dynamic calendar of signature events like PorchFest, AdMo Vibe Summer Concert Series, Movie Nights, and more to bring thousands of visitors to our streets each year. These events turn sidewalks into dance floors, parks into performance spaces, and neighbors into friends, drawing over 100,000 attendees to the neighborhood every year.
