In honor of International Women's Day and in celebration of Japanese women in the hospitality industry, Perry’s will host its second Japanese Women in Hospitality Dinner on Monday, March 9th. The 2024 James Beard Emerging Chef of the Year and first-ever woman to be named Executive Chef at the Adam’s Morgan institution, Chef Masako Morishita will spearhead the collaboration dinner alongside the accomplished chefs and hospitality professionals Yuri Oberbillig of Saku Saku Flakerie, Jessica Joly Crane of Sake Discoveries, and Risa Sakanishi of Sushi Nakazawa. Citing her mother as her catalyst for creativity and strength, Morishita has dedicated much of her career and accolades to Japanese mothers and immigrant women in the industry, and is thrilled to collaborate with this group of accomplished women for another year.
The four women will serve a $180 collaborative four-course menu with an optional sake and cocktail pairing ($60). The menu will highlight each woman’s culinary talents, creatively blending Japanese traditions and flavors. The tasting menu includes one amuse bouche followed by two appetizers, an entrée, and dessert. Final menu details will be available closer to the event.
