Frequently Asked Questions

Adams Morgan PorchFest is an immersive neighborhood music festival featuring somewhere around 100 performances on 20+ stages throughout the residential and commercial streets of Adams Morgan. The event is 100% free and open to people of all ages as well as their pets (if the pets are cool with music and crowds).

The first performance starts at 2pm and the last one ends at 6pm. Businesses will start to get crowded once the music kicks in, so if you want to enjoy some lunch, it might be a good idea to arrive early and eat before 2pm. The event ends at 6pm, but there’s a good chance you’ll want to hang out a little longer and enjoy all the food and entertainment that Adams Morgan has to offer.

  • Please don’t drive. Parking is always tricky in Adams Morgan and on a big day like PorchFest with road closures and detours it’s not a good idea to drive your car. If you need to drive, there is a Colonial parking garage behind 2421 18th Street, NW that’s accessible from the alley entrance to the south of the garage from Kalorama Rd., between 18th and Champlain Streets.
  • Walk or bike. If you live close enough to walk or bike, please do. In addition to the large number of bike racks throughout the neighborhood, we’ll also be bringing in a bicycle valet to secure your bike while you enjoy the event.
  • Public transportation.
    • The closest metro stop is Woodley Park/Adams Morgan – it’s a short 10 minute stroll across the Ellington Bridge to get to the neighborhood, and you’ll find the music starts as soon as you cross Rock Creek. You can also catch the L2 or 96 buses at the stop in front of 2300 Calvert St., NW and ride them across the bridge into Adams Morgan.
    • The Columbia Heights Metro Station is also relatively close if you’re coming on the Green Line.
    • Metrobus will be running and the 42, 43, and L2 will drop you off right in the middle of the neighborhood. The buses that usually run up 18th Street (90 & 96) will still be running but they will detour down Florida Avenue and back up Columbia Road before resuming their usual route.

Ride share apps (Uber, Lyft, etc.) are another great way to get here and leave at the end of the day.

We will have three HQ tents set up during the event: in front of Marie Reed School (2201 18th St., NW), near the Aetna Main Stage at 2424 18th St., NW, and in the plaza at 18th St. and Adams Mill Rd. Additionally, we will have dozens of volunteers and staff wearing bright yellow “Staff” shirts. Volunteers can be found at most of the music locations, HQ tents, and throughout the event.

You can get your free wristband at any of the HQ tents. The wristbands aren’t required, but they will get you discounts at dozens of Adams Morgan businesses. Also, each wristband has a QR code that will help you pull up the interactive event map on your phone.

We will have a limited number of paper maps available at our HQ tents but the best way is via the digital event map that will be available via our website at AdMoPorchFest.com.
